Emirates issues statement on Dubai-Colombo flights after terror attacks

Dubai - Easter Day bomb blasts at three Sri Lankan churches and three luxury hotels claimed 290 lives.

In light of the heightened security measures that Sri Lanka implemented after a series of bomb blasts rocked its capital, Emirates airline has issued a statement regarding flights between Dubai and Colombo.

Following the attacks the Sri Lankan government imposed a curfew with immediate effect as well as blocking access to major social media networks and messaging apps, including Facebook and WhatsApp.

Emirates responded to Lanka flight concerns: Due to heightened security measures, we urge passengers departing Sri Lanka to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before their flight departure. At this time, Emirates' flights between Colombo and Dubai are operating as scheduled. We are monitoring the situation closely."
Easter Day bomb blasts at three Sri Lankan churches and three luxury hotels claimed 290 lives, hospital and police officials said. Two other explosions followed the unprecedented string of attacks on the Sri Lankan capital.
