The Dubai Police found a lost five-year-old kindergartner holding his bag and walking alone on a public road in International City.
The police authorities also summoned the kindergarten's administration duo to negligence and omission of the supervisor who forgot the child in the bus.
Brigadier Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman Al Malek, director of Al Rashidiyah police station and the head of the School Security initiative, shared that the patrol took the child to Al Rashidiya police station where officials comforted the lost child until the arrival of his parents.
The police handed the child over to his parents after verifying their identities. The incident took place due to the negligence of the bus supervisor who had forgotten the child after getting the rest of the children off the bus. As a result, the child left the bus and started wandering on the streets.
"The school's head bus supervisor and driver were summoned to the station and necessary action was taken against them", Brigadier Al Malek added.
He also stressed the importance of constantly monitoring children when in public places either by their parents or education personnel. He emphasised that child neglect is punishable in law, in accordance with the Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 concerning child rights.
The child's family thanked the Dubai Police and expressed their joy for finding their child
