The application allows the civil defence to monitor safety systems in buildings, and will allow residents and owners to inform the authorities in case of emergencies at the touch of a button.
According to officials, this will enhance emergency response times and reduce losses, as well as helping the Dubai Civil Defence ensure that necessary safety systems are available and maintained on time.
The system will initially be in place in 58,823 buildings in Dubai. By the end of the year, it will be expanded to 66,544 buildings.
Additionally, in the next several weeks the civil defence will launch a new 29-person operations room, which will allow it to monitor airports, ships, cars and buildings. According to officials, the force hopes that the operations room will decrease response times from eight minutes to four.
According to officials, Dubai Civil Defence is also now helping draft laws that will make it compulsory for all residents and homes to have alarm systems installed.
