Himanshu Vyas, secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), the national organisational body of the Congress party, told Khaleej Times that permissions to hold the talk at the Cricket Stadium has been finalised, along with the main agenda during his visit.
"On the evening of January 11, at 4.30 pm, a free to attend event will be organised for the indian diaspora. The Stadium has a seating capacity of 25,000 people. It is not a ticketed event," confirmed Vyas. The programme is titled 'Gandhi 150 years, and the idea of India", and Gandhi will speak both in Hindi as well as English.
The Congress scion will also attend a luncheon meeting with the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) in Dubai. Another interaction with the same business group will be organised in Abu Dhabi on the 12th as well, according to Vyas. A second public gathering at the Social and Cultural Centre in Abu Dhabi will be organised on the 12th as well.
He is also expected to visit the Founders Memorial in Abu Dhabi.
A separate function with students will be held as well, said Vyas. However, the details of this programme are yet to the finalised.
