Beware of Dubai millionaire raffle scam
Dubai - Scammers contact their victims via email and phone
Residents have been advised not to entertain emails and calls falsely claiming to represent Dubai Duty Free.
A new advisory on the DDF website states that fraudsters have been requesting personal details and cash from people in their name. Scammers lure their unsuspecting victims by falsely informing them that they won the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise or Millennium Millionaire raffle draws.
The definitive list of winners can only be found on Dubai Duty Free's website or on their social media channels.
The Dubai Duty Free scam is the latest in a number of fraudulent messages attempting to swindle money from UAE residents.

Earlier, a WhatsApp message claiming to be from LuLu group made the rounds, where shoppers received messages that they could win Dh500 vouchers from Lulu for its 18th anniversary.
Another example is the Dh200,000 Dubai Expo 2020 lucky draw phishing scam. Recipients were asked to share personal information on two particular numbers to claim their big prize money.
