Dubai is home to many ice cream joints, each having their own speciality, but what can beat a budget-friendly ice cream parlour? So, don't bother about the extra calories you might put on - once in a while - and indulge in some scoops this summer as the mercury soars to 50°C. Here's a list of places that serve delicious ice cream for around Dh15:
Ice Lab
Location: Al Quoz If you are obsessed with Nutella and chocolate flavour, a visit to this small joint in Al Quoz is a must. Among the top recommendations at the place is The Nutella shake in the jar. For the quantity they serve, it is totally worth every penny - or rather, dirham. Want to try more chocolate desserts? How about the Ferrero Rocher or KitKat milkshake! For Dh15 and less, you can try out a variety of their ice cream flavours and slush.
Kulfilicious
Location: Al Karama If you love your fix of Indian ice cream Kulfi, head to the famous Kulfilicious in Al Karama. Starting at Dh15, you can try their extensive menu of chocolate, malai, Oreo and more. Want to beat the heat with a cool concoction? Then you must try their special faloodas, milkshakes and juices. A must try is their Royal Kulfi Falooda, with a combination of three flavours - paan, mango, and malai. Yes, the quaint place might be congested but you can't help but notice their unique ambience.
Baskin Robbins
Location: 70 outlets including Al Karama, Financial Center, Al Wasl Road and more across Dubai Who doesn't like Baskin Robbins? Are you among those who would rather try multiple flavours of ice cream rather than one large scoop, then Junior Sundae is for you. For just Dh10, you can get a brownie with sauce, one junior scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, and a topping of your choice.
And if you like cake, don't forget to treat your family and friends to one of their special ice cream cakes?
Häagen-Dazs
Location: Nine outlets across Dubai, including Mirdif, Downtown Dubai, Jumeirah 1 and Deira City Centre among others Rich flavours at pocket-friendly prices - that's the best way to summarise Häagen-Dazs. With a scoop starting at Dh15, you can upsize it for Dh26. However, choosing from their long list of signature flavours, including salted caramel, pralines and cream and sorbets could be a difficult, yet tempting task. And while you are there, you must try their dark chocolate fondue, crem e brule milkshake and Belgian chocolate.
McDonald's
Location: 71 outlets including Al Safa, Barsha 1, Dubai Media City, Deira and Al Quoz among others How could we possibly close this list without listing the extremely affordable McDonald's ice cream cone? It is one of the few pleasures in the city you can still enjoy for Dh1. Don't bother having it inside the outlet as you can pick up your favourite vanilla cone from the driveway counter. Adding an extra scoop, or chocolate dressing or going for an elaborate waffle will still cost you under Dh15!
Turkish ice creams
If you have a friend uninitiated in the concept of Turkish jokesters serving ice creams at the various outlets around the city, trick them at one.
