Three people were killed and eight injured in a truck-van collision on Monday afternoon.
The accident took place at 1 pm on Emirates Road in the direction of Sharjah, near the Maliha road exit. The collision occurred as the vehicles had not maintained a safe distance between them.
Two people suffered serious injuries while six were moderately injured in the accident.
The Dubai Police shared pictures and detailed information on their Twitter and Facebook pages.

Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of General Traffic Administration, said that preliminary investigations revealed that the incident occurred due to not leaving enough space between vehicles.
As soon as the police received a notification regarding the crash, traffic patrols organised traffic flow in the area to facilitate access for ambulance and rescue vehicles.
Al Mazrouei called on motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations in order to prevent such accidents from occurring.
