Here's what you need to know about the two new water parks in town.

Dubai is set to have two new cool destinations with the Laguna Waterpark and the Splashers Island opening its doors to residents and tourists this weekend.

Laguna Waterpark

Spanning 13.4 million square feet, the La Mer neighbourhood has over 130 shops, cafés, restaurants and beach activities stretched along a waterfront promenade, with views of the Arabian Gulf to one-side and downtown Dubai to the other. Nestled in the central area of La Mer in the brand-new leisure and entertainment hub of Laguna, is Laguna Waterpark which opens to the public on May 12, Saturday.

Laguna Waterpark features five main rides, two of which are a first for the Middle East. Some of the unique attractions include the only WaveOz 180 FloRider in the GCC, also known as 'The Ultimate Surf Machine'; a slide tower including the region's first Manta family raft ride and Aqualoop; and a children's zone with Splash Pad and AquaPlay Rainfortress.
How much will it cost?
UAE residents can purchase tickets online for only Dh99. At the gate, it will be Dh125. Non-residents will have to pay Dh159 for tickets. Children under two-years-old get free admission.  Admission price includes access to all attractions and guests can exit and re-enter the water park throughout their stay.
Until what time is it open?
Laguna Waterpark will be open daily from 10:00am until dusk. However, the WaveOz 180 and Pool Lounge will have open evenings with a separate ticket.
Where is it?
Laguna Waterpark is located at the centre of the Dubai's hip, new, La Mer neighbourhood. It's at the end of the promenade known as Laguna.
Do they have parking over there?
La Mer has over 1,100 parking spots including an underground parking that will be free for 1 hour for the waterpark visitors and an additional three hours free with Dh100 spend and on validation of the token.

Attractions

Laguna Waterpark has a couple of nice attractions on top of the five main rides that the waterpark has. Of these five rides - two are a first for the Middle East.

Splashers Island (Aquaventure expansion)

The Splashers Island is a new water park for the little ones to enjoy in Dubai.
What can my children do there?
The waterpark has 7 new water slides which include the dual slide Thunder & Lighting, as well as the Cyclone, this new expansion offers families with kids 1.2m and below the ultimate water themed attraction.
When does it open?
The waterpark opens its doors on May 12, 2018.

A visit to the waterpark would cost Dh290 per child

Aquaventure Waterpark

All you have to do is visit the Aquaventure ticketing plaza on May 12 and quote "Splashers Opening" to enjoy 1 free parent admission for every purchased child admission pass (1.2m and below). The ticket costs Dh290 per child and this offer cannot be combined with any other offer or discount. It is valid only at the ticketing plaza.
