The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation (KF) has pledged to pay the expenses for the deportation of 250 pardoned prisoners from different nationalities to their home countries.
The gesture came in implementation of the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The pardoned prisoners who were serving the jail terms to be followed by the deportation could not afford to pay for their return tickets.
A source from the foundation said that all the necessary procedure to deport them had been completed and the foundation had already deported the first batch through the country's airports. He added that through this project, the foundation aims to enhance its programmes and projects at the local arena as well as provide support to the poor and needy people.
