The Ajman Criminal Court has sentenced a nurse to a 3-month imprisonment followed by deportation for theft.

The nurse, who is of African descent, had allegedly stolen six mobile phones and medications from the home of an Emirati family residing in Ajman, reported Al Bayan.

She had been in their employee as a nurse and babysitter.

The housewife had filed a complaint with the police that the nurse had stolen the phones and medications, and given them to another person.

The nurse had accompanied the children to a mall in Dubai.

While they were there, the housewife was contacted by a security guard at the mall, telling her that they found six mobile phones on the nurse as well as the medication.

The defendant said these items belonged to her children.
