New paid parking zone in this emirate starts tomorrow

Ajman - The paid parking period will be from 8am to 1pm and from 5pm to 9pm in the evening.

Ajman Municipality announced that parking spaces in Al Hassan Al Basri street near Al Yasmin Building will be included in the paid parking zone effective Saturday, July 28.
Abdullah Mustafa Al Marzouqi, director of Roads and Infrastructure Department at Ajman Municipality, said that the move aims to reduce traffic congestion and curb random use and exploitation of parking slots for extended periods of time.
He added that parking inspectors will follow up on the commitment of vehicle drivers to the service during the parking periods in the morning period - 8 am to 1 pm, and evening - 5pm to 9pm.
Al Marzouqi said that the municipality is working to increase access to paid parking.
He said drivers have several easy ways to pay parking fees, which include the ability to pay using street machines or via smartphone application, easily accomplished via SMS.
"The paid parking machines have already been installed in the area and will be in operation on Saturday," he added.
He said that the project in such an area will ensure availability of parking spaces for residents, visitors and shoppers. This will also minimise the misusing of parking spaces near commercial areas.
