A brother duo who stole cars, dismantled them and sold their spare parts have been nabbed by the Ajman Police. The two Arab men admitted to have stolen five cars in the emirate of Ajman alone, apart from carrying out similar thefts in other emirates.
Recently, the police received a complaint from an Asian about the theft of his car, which belonged to the company he works at. He told the cops that he parked the car at night near to his residence and locked it perfectly, said Major Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, director of CID at Ajman Police.
After checking the complaint, the police swung into action and formed a team to probe the incident. They launched a manhunt for the culprits and nabbed one of the men believed to be behind the theft. He led the police to the other accomplice, who was his brother.
The duo confessed that they carried out five car thefts in the emirate of Ajman alone and some more in other emirates. They said they stole the cars, dismantled them and sold the spare parts of the vehicles. Based on their confession, the suspects were referred to the public prosecution.
The CID director called on the people to ensure their cars are secured and parked at safe parking lots to avoid thefts. He asked them not to hesitate to report a person trying to commit traffic violations, theft or any other offence punishable by law.
