A kind gesture from Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairperson of Ajman Executive Council has ended the suffering of a blind woman and her nine-year-old son. He put an end to the distress by issuing identity documents and residence visa to her son and enrolling him in school.
Sameera Al Zaher, an Arab expat living in Ajman for the past 15 years, was deserted by her husband closely after the birth of her son. He went back to his home country and abandoned his family.
Al Zaher could not issue the birth certificate of her child and hence the child did not have a passport. While struggling to raise her child and trying to get the necessary documents, she had an eye disease that made her lose her eyesight. Meanwhile, she had also lost her job.
She said she would have been homeless long back, had she not received help from her friends and well-wishers to pay the rent and the monthly bills. "I did not lose hope that good things will happen. I contacted the Ajman Crown Prince office and they immediately issued the necessary documents. Sheikh Ammar also sponsored his school education and got him enrolled at the Al Hikma Private School," said a grateful Al Zaher.
"We used to cry because he could not go to school like the children with whom he played every day. He always guides me around the house and helps me walk outside. He kept telling that if he had a good education, he could get a good job to take care of me. Sheikh Ammar has now erased our tears and sadness," she said.
