UAE residents urged to follow safety rules during Eid Al Adha holidays

Abu Dhabi - Families have been urged not to leave children unattended at parks, gaming sites, beaches and swimming pools.

The Civil Defence Department in Abu Dhabi has urged the public to adhere to the requirements of safety during the Eid Al Adha holidays and warned against the dangers of leaving stoves unattended.
Authorities also warned against abuse or neglect of the use of incinerators and the need to pay attention when using gas stoves.
Colonel Muadh Mohammed Al Derbi, acting director-general of the civil defence in Abu Dhabi, affirmed the readiness of the civil defence teams to enhance safety for the public during the holidays.
Colonel Al Derbi pointed out the importance of providing protection requirements in industrial establishments, factories,, hospitals, hotels and other entities.
He called on the public to prevent the causes of fire, such as the separation of electrical currents from unused devices, overloading wires, checking on gas cylinders when leaving homes, and ensuring the safety of vehicles when embarking on long journeys.
He urged families not to leave children unattended at parks, gaming sites, beaches and swimming pools to protect them from drowning.
Colonel Al Derbi explained that the civil defence teams continue to keep abreast of all the global developments in the fields of professional work, develop the skills of its cadres, and provide the latest necessary supplies in the face of crises and disasters.

Preparations complete

The Abu Dhabi Waste Management Centre (Tadweer) has developed an integrated action plan for the upcoming Eid Al Adha as part of its efforts to maintain cleanliness of Abu Dhabi.
As many as 4,000 workers will be deployed across the emirate. The plan includes the cleaning of all mosques that will hold Eid prayers, prayer grounds, markets, parks and other public places, and handling slaughterhouse waste in a hygienic and environmentally-responsible manner.
