Abu Dhabi Police have announced a temporary closure of roads in the capital for emergency maintenance work.
According to a statement issued on social media on Sunday, the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi announced the traffic will be diverted for those driving from Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Road (formerly Al Morour) towards Pepsi intersection; and those driving from Arabian Gulf Street towards the same intersection on Raban Street which is located between Sheikh Rashid bin Seed (Pepsi intersection) and  Arabian Gulf Street opposite to the Embassies Area.

Traffic closure and diversion was due to asphalt problem caused by a broken sewer line. Necessary action has been taken with the partners.
On Saturday night, netizens took to Twitter to share pictures of a broken asphalt on a road, which were apparently cracks.

Abu Dhabi Police urges motorist to use alternative routes to maintain their safety.
