Six people were injured, including an elderly person, after a bus carrying 14 workers overturned at the ICAD camp bridge in Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi Police said the bus was heading towards the city before the rear tyre of the bus burst, causing the bus to overturn, which caused moderate to severe injuries.
The injured were immediately taken to Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi by the air ambulance.
Brigadier General Ahmed Abdullah Al Shehhi, deputy director of the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police, urged motorists to check the tyres of their vehicles for any damage or cracks to avoid traffic accidents.
Major Abdullah Al Qubaisi, head of the Traffic Control Department at the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said that preliminary investigations revealed faulty tyre as the cause of the accident.
The Command and Control Centre of the Abu Dhabi Police received a call notifying them about the incident. The police and ambulances swiftly arrived at the site and began their work and took the injured to hospital.
The Abu Dhabi police tweeted about the incident today morning.

Last month, officials revealed that unfit types were the cause for a total of 17 traffic accidents, which resulted in 20 injuries, three major injuries and fourth deaths in 2017.
The Abu Dhabi Police also revealed that around 28,727 drivers were fined last year for violating tyre safety requirements. Police said those driving with invalid tyres will receive a fine of Dh500, four traffic points and have their vehicle confiscated for one week.
The Abu Dhabi Police also recently posted warnings on their social media platforms about regular vehicle inspections and maintenance, including an initiative dubbed: 'Dear driver, ensure your vehicle is regularly maintained and your tyres are checked before traveling.'
Abu Dhabi Police official told Khaleej Times that driving with unfit tyres has led to major road accidents in the capital.
"Unfit tyres have led to some serious traffic accidents and families have ended up losing loved ones due to something that could have been prevented," he added.
