90% discount, 24-hour sale and free rides during Eid Al Fitr break in UAE

With Eid Al Fitr just a few days away, the air is filled with festive spirit around the UAE and Muslim world. There's reason enough to cheer for those who haven't planned a vacation abroad as malls and entertainment hubs in Abu Dhabi line up activities, sales, discounts, fireworks and more events - competing with each other to woo families and increase footfall.

Malls in the city, outskirts and industrial areas are offering 24-hour mega sales and discounts of up to 90 per cent. The Mall at World Trade Centre in the city, Yas Mall in Yas Island, Dalma Mall in Mussafah and Al Jimi Mall and Barari Outlet Mall Al Ain will be open from 10am on June 5 till 10 am on June 6.
Yas Mall will have hourly draws on purchases of over Dh200. Shoppers can enjoy VAT back offer on purchases of Dh1,000 and above. Gamers can try their hands at the Yas Gaming Festival where participants can experience fun and free-to-play games from June 5 to 15.
Dalma Mall general manager and CFO Bhupinder Singh said the sale is in partnership with Department of Culture and Tourism. The mall is offering two Nissan Patrol cars to two shoppers who spend at least Dh200 at any of the retail outlets or Dh500 at Carrefour.

Concerts, traditional events

On June 6, Department of Culture and Tourism will hold 'Hala Bilkhaleej' concert featuring Hussain Al Jassmi, Balqees and Essa Al Marzouq at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. People can book tickets on www.ticketmaster.ae.
Separately, malls have organised three days of free traditional, cultural and interactive activities.
Visitors to Mushrif Mall in the city can enjoy a variety of fresh and dry dates from the UAE, Saudi and Jordan and date products like jam, syrup, powder, pastes, ma'mool biscuits and date sugar.
Mushrif Mall manager Aravind Ravi Palode said - until June 10 - people can taste wide range of organic dates from local farmers and 'ajwa' dates known for its medicinal properties.
Other malls in the city - Khalidiyah Mall, Al Wahda Mall, Marina Mall and Galleria Mall will feature different performers in traditional and modern roaming activities.
Mazyad Mall in Mussafah will have a variety of Russian, Brazilian, Mexican, masquerade, carnival and fusion dance shows as well as family games and competitions with vouchers as prizes.
Al Raha Mall, on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, has area for kids with art and crafts, activities like card making, colouring, face painting, balloon bending, magic shows and more.
Al Foah Mall in Al Ain will host activities like games, magic shows, Tanura dance, hip-hop dancers and jugglers.

Free entry, pay-as-you-go rides

The leisure and entertainment hub of Yas Island is offering a 'Kids Go Free' package where those under age of 12 years can enter for free to any theme parks when accompanied by adult with paid ticket.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi's Rollercoaster Rally offers unlimited thrills on June 5 and allows free entry from 6pm to midnight for visitors to pay as they go on rides.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has extended hours till 10pm and Yas Waterworld offers a 50 per cent discount for single day tickets until June 4. Also there will be fireworks show on three consecutive evenings from June 5.
