Emiratis and expats in Abu Dhabi can now avail of 47 social support services provided by 12 government entities through an online platform called 'Tamm'.
The new 'Social Services' initiative, the brainchild of the Department of Community Development (DCD) in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, will relieve residents of the need to visit various government entities. They can access services through www.tamm.abudhabi, top government officials have said.
"Services are split into different categories - housing, education, family, health, finance, community and people of determination. Emiratis and residents can check their eligibility and apply for services."
Emiratis can seek loans for purchase, construction and maintenance of homes, financial support of Khalifa Fund for new or existing business, aid for treatment abroad, marriage grant, scholarships, family counselling, health insurance policies, request for social assistance and exemption from loan repayments etc. Welfare-related services include applying for identity cards for people of determination to benefit from the discounts, exemptions and facilities, and seeking job opportunities for them. Request can be made for specialised training programmes to deal with people of determination.
Expatriates can apply for selected services. Expats seeking care for those with special needs can apply for Aounak Health Card, People of Determination ID, family counseling, and enrolment in social training course among few other health-related services.
Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, member of the Executive Council and chairman of the DCD, said the aim of such an initiative is to improve the quality of people's life including senior citizens and people of determination.
Dr Rauda Al Saadi, director-general of the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority at Tamm Centre, Department of Economic Development - Abu Dhabi, said the 'Social Services' journey is in line with Abu Dhabi Government's vision to provide next-generation services to everyone. "We affirm the readiness of the Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre to receive all inquiries in support to this newly launched journey."
Mubarak Al Mansoori, project manager of the initiative at the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, said more services will be launched in a phased manner as the government seeks to make life easier for people.
"We are trying to support Abu Dhabi residents by having all community services on one platform. People can avail these services in easy steps. They need to register (on Tamm) using their Emirates ID and get a smart pass, which will give access to the government services."
