There are two genres that are in desperate need of a revamp. The first is the Western. Gone are the days of Clint Eastwood staring down the barrel of a gun with no more than a bead of sweat signalling his fear. In his place is The Lone Ranger with the instantly dislikeable Armie Hammer. The second variety is horror. A divisive genre at the best of times, you really do either love horror or hate it. We hate it. Mainly because anything that is produced is cheap, ill thought out and, frankly, stupid.

Leading the pack this week, or in fact 2012 when the film was first released, is The Barrens. A family goes on a camping trip. Shizzle happens. The end. There, we just saved you Dhs35.

Only a few people have seen this poor excuse for a motion picture and even fewer have reviewed it. Stay away.
