Kanye West puts $6.8m into prez bid

Kanye West's presidential bid has cost the rapper nearly $7 million, a recent filing to the Federal Election Commission reveals. While West's Birthday Party initially missed an FEC deadline, his self-funded campaign has since made its spending public, with West himself loaning $6.8 million to cover expenses from July 15 to August 31. The rapper has also received a total of just $11,000 in contributions to his Kanye 2020 campaign.

Tenet kicks off with $20m in the US, nears $150m globally

After months of delays, Christopher Nolan's sci-fi epic Tenet finally arrived in US theatres and generated $20.2 million over Labor Day weekend. The espionage thriller is already nearing the $150 million mark globally, thanks to a stronger showing at the international box office. Overseas, "Tenet" earned another $78.3 million this weekend, bringing its worldwide haul to $146.2 million.

Robert Pattinson tests positive on 'Batman' set

British actor Robert Pattinson has tested positive for Covid-19, according to reports, thus halting production of The Batman and highlighting the industry's struggles to get back to business after months of a pandemic-induced shutdown. Movie studio Warner Bros. said, "Filming is temporarily paused."
Meanwhile, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and his entire family tested positive for coronavirus but have made a full recovery, the professional wrestler turned Hollywood A-lister has revealed. Johnson, the world's top-paid actor, urged his 196 million Instagram followers to wear masks and avoid "politicising" the pandemic after revealing that he, his wife and two young daughters had picked up Covid-19 from close family friends.
"This has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family," said Johnson.
The Jumanji actor's young children Jasmine and Tiana Gia had few symptoms, but Johnson and his wife Lauren "had a rough go," he said.
