Pry into a man's weekend activity today and he may have a spa appointment booked. Or just perched on his sofa at home with a face pack on! He is no stranger to shopping at malls because is looking for clothes to wear to work. Men know the importance of looking good and how it can influence his relationship and job. After all, why should girls have all the fun?  

Metrosexual - The term has been misunderstood. But it's a term that aesthetically-attuned men love to associate themselves with. It definitely conjures up images of style, trendy, well-educated, urban man, who is not shy to get few extra stares from the opposite sex. He's no stranger to designers, frequents spas and confesses a great appreciation for bettering himself in every possible way. It's no surprise that the quintessential metrosexual is so fashion-forward!

But overly doing it may lead to a fashion faux pas. We give you a few rudimentary 'words of advice' that can give you an edge over the 'common man'.

Short coat: Choose coat that is short, fitted and made with either suede or leather.

T-shirts: Simple is best. Your wardrobe must-have should include plain blue, black and white T-shirts.

Button-down shirts: It should skim the body and be worn in solid colours. At least one white shirt is favoured.

Suits: A sharp suit is an impeccable find in any man's closet. Select one that is cut to flatter, preferably in a dark shade like black or charcoal.

Pants: Beyond jeans and suit pants, basic dress slacks are necessities. Two pairs in dark, neutral shades will suffice; their legs should be cut straight.

Accessories: Love bracelets? No problem! Trendy accessories such as sunglasses, wallets, watches and even handkerchiefs can be remarkably suave additions to an already fashion-conscious wardrobe.
