  • #1 Maaz Al Kassasbeh was born to Safi Youssef Al Kasasbeh in a prominent family in Jordan in 1988.
  • #2 After graduating from King Hussein Air College in Jordan in 2009, he took additional F-16 tactics training with the Republic of Korea Air Force under a joint Korean-Jordanian exchange programme.
  • #3 He joined No. 1 Squadron at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in 2012.
  • #4 He fell into the hands of Daesh militants in December when his F-16 crashed near Raqqa, Syria.
  • #5 Following militant demands, Jordan government said it was ready to trade an Al Qaeda prisoner for Kassasbeh’s life.
