Dubai — Souq.com, the region’s largest e-commerce player, has partnered with leading regional and international brands to announce the launch of its biggest online shopping sales event to date, the #HeSaleSheSale. The event will take place from March 29–31.

Souq.com saw a ten-fold uplift in traffic and sales during its last shopping event White Friday, in November 2014, and the #HeSaleSheSale will offer up to 70 per cent off over 2,500 separate consumer deals, which is more than twice as many deals as were on offer during White Friday.

These will range from deals on electronics and technology, through to fashion and accessories. Souq.com will also be partnering with some key brands such as Shangri-La and Careem to offer specific experiences targeted at the female shopper.

Ronaldo Mouchawar, CEO & Co-Founder of Souq.com said: “We made history with White Friday, our version of the Black Friday global shopping phenomenon. More people shopped online than ever before on that weekend. Since then, we have been busy diversifying our category range, particularly within the female focused category ranges such as fashion and accessories, to further respond to the needs of our growing customer base. The #HeSaleSheSale is set to be our biggest shopping event to date. With over 2,500 product deals on offer, as well as unique offers from partners such as P&G and Shangri La Hotels, we expect to see seven million people to our site over the three day sale period.”

Thomas Guss, GM of Shangri-La Hotels said: “At Shangri-La hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi we are always looking for new ways to connect with our guests. This first-time promotion with Souq.com supports our strategy to be more present online and give our UAE residents many reasons to return and enjoy our legendary hospitality”.

Other than the product deals on offer, Souq.com has developed even more ways to provide value to its consumers during the #HeSaleSheSale. Through an exclusive partnership with MasterCard, consumers who make a purchase using their MasterCard credit card will receive a further 10 per cent off all deals.

“During the #HeSaleSheSale, we will of course still be offering Cash On Delivery; COD currently accounts for over 70 per cent of payments on our site. However, we are seeing a shift towards credit card usage, as consumers in this region are starting to become more comfortable with online payments” says Asif Keshodia, CFO of Souq.com. “We’ve developed the partnership with MasterCard to further shift the needle towards credit card payments online”.
