Kalyan Jewellers to invest Dh400m in GCC by 2016

The new showroom will offer an exquisite and wide range of gold and diamond jewellery including bespoke collections such as Turkish, Finja, Antique and Omega.

Dubai: Kalyan Jewellers has announced that it is opening a new showroom at Al Nahda, Sharjah.

The showroom is located inside Lulu Hypermarket and marks the 10th showroom for the company in the UAE. The new showroom will offer an exquisite and wide range of gold and diamond jewellery including bespoke collections such as Turkish, Finja, Antique and Omega. The showroom will also offer traditional Indian and Singaporean designs of gold jewellery.

Indian film actress Manju Warrier who is one of the brand ambassadress of Kalyan Jewellers, along with T.S. Kalyanaraman, chairman and managing director; Rajesh Kalyanaraman, executive director of finance; and Ramesh Kalyanaraman, executive director of marketing of Kalyan Jewellers, were present for the opening ceremony, on the auspicious day of Ramadan. Kalyan Jewellers has been aggressively expanding its distribution in the UAE. In the last eight months, the company has added four new showrooms in the UAE with a total investment of nearly Dh100 million and has so far invested more than Dh400 million in the GCC.

T.S. Kalyanaraman said: “Jewellery demand has been buoyant in the UAE and this showroom at Al Nahda will allow us to reach out to more customers. We have ambitious plans to grow our business in this country and build on our loyal base of over 100,000 customers. We expect to generate revenues of over Dh2 billion by the end of the financial year in the GCC and will continue to invest in the region. Having earmarked investments of Dh400 million for the GCC for this financial year, we will soon be making a foray into Qatar with six new showrooms and plans are afoot to launch in Bahrain. There will also be an additional showroom in the UAE during the course of the year.”

The new Kalyan Jewellers showroom flaunts an all-new collection of exquisite precious jewellery and is set to welcome customers looking for the latest trends this season. Also on offer is the ‘Bag a Gold’ initiative that allows customers to win an American Tourister Soft Luggage on purchase worth Dh2,500 at any Kalyan Jewellers showroom across the UAE.

Kalyan made an aggressive foray into the UAE by launching six large format showrooms on a single day in 2013. Since its launch, the company has created a compelling proposition backed by customer-centric innovation.
