The new technology can revolutionise the way a wide range of digital services are accessed and enjoyed. More importantly, it provides secure user authentication with a single touch.

“eGo-compliant products will recognise your credential at a touch. Nothing can be more natural and simple as a way to interact,” Gemalto business innovation director Romina Stroeymeyte said. “It will simplify the user experience when accessing a host of digital services.”

Gemalto — which has invested over €150 million in research and development in 2011 — has a team of over 1,500 digital scientists dedicated to bringing world-class technology as the world becomes increasingly digital and wireless.

eGo is an embedded software that could be fitted into a wearable object such as a watch or belt. It can store the user’s credentials and access rights for a wide range of services, including mobile subscriptions and transportation e-tickets. §After verifying the user’s identity, it acts like a multi-service enabler containing many applications and communicates with eGo-compliant objects with one touch. Credentials are passed on securely, and the desired electronic transaction is completed seamlessly.
