Copper heads for a second weekly gain

LONDON - Copper rose in London, heading for a second weekly climb, amid indications economies are improving in the world’s biggest consumers of the metal.

Copper for delivery in three months climbed 0.4 per cent to $8,126 a metric ton by 9:55 a.m. on the London Metal Exchange and was up 0.8 per cent this week.

Futures for delivery in March rose 0.5 per cent to $3.6955 a pound on the Comex in New York.
