Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank expands Dubai branch network

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, or ADIB, has opened its 79th branch in the UAE, at Jumeirah Lake Towers in Dubai.

The new branch brings the total number of ADIB’s branches in Dubai to 16; five of which are located in malls, and are open from 10am to 10pm. This new branch along with ADIB’s all existing branches provides the full range of retail and commercial services to customers.

Commenting on the new branch, Philip King, UAE Head of Retail Banking for ADIB, said: “Despite increasing use of our online channels, we continue to see high demand from customers for services from our branches, and this is our response to that demand. We will keep looking for new ways to ensure we are providing our customers with the best services.”

Spiriant opens ME branch in Dafza

Following an agreement with Dubai Airport Freezone, or Dafza, German, Spiriant, LSG Sky Chefs’ in-flight equipment subsidiary, a renowned provider of equipment solutions for airlines worldwide has officially opened its first office in the Middle East with the purpose of serving the rising demand for enhanced inflight services in the region. The deal, which was signed with Dafza, came after carefully searching for a location that would connect the Middle East and Africa with one of the world’s leading inflight service equipment providers.

CBI hires new head of sales, distribution

Commercial Bank International (CBI) announced the appointment of Murray Macdougall as head of sales and distribution for retail banking. He will be responsible for the strategic management, growth, and performance of CBI’s branch network and direct sales teams. His key focus will be on customer service and driving sales. Macdougall is a senior retail banking executive with extensive experience working for a number of global banks in Australia and Asia.

Du, Samsung Gulf Electronics in tie-up

Du has announced an extended strategic partnership with Samsung Gulf Electronics. The partnership comes as part of du’s journey to transition their Home Service portfolio into Smart Home services. This will be done through offering customers Smart Home Services, and marks the beginning of a long term strategic collaboration between du and Samsung. To start the partnership, du will work with Samsung to develop a Smart TV application for its multiscreen solution.

Jacky’s named Superbrand for ninth year

Jacky’s Electronics has been awarded the Superbrand status for the ninth straight year, recognising the company for consistently working to strengthen its brand image by upholding a high level of customer service. Jacky’s is one of the first consumer electronics retailers to be recognised by the UAE Superbrands Council. The company is currently celebrating its 26-year long presence in the Emirates. The Superbrand Awards is considered as the “Oscars of Branding” worldwide.
