Dubai — Zeeshan’s 45-ball knock of 113 runs powered Welkin to a 36-run win over RAH in a high scoring match in the Durham-UAE oragnised Al Faraa Corporate T20 League cricket tournament at the Al Ain Sportplex ground. The tournament is being held under the auspices of the Al Ain Cricket Council.

Batting first, the Welkin innings was dominated by Zeeshan, who dealt mostly in boundaries to bolster his team to 265 for 7 in 20 overs. Zeeshan, who was later declared the man of the match, threw his bat at almost everything as he hit 11 sixes and four boundaries during his breezy knock.

Ghafoor also joined forces as he hit an unbeaten 52 off just 19 balls with the help of three sixes and seven fours. Faced with the mammoth task, RAH made a valiant attempt before scoring 224 runs for six wickets, at the end of the allotted 20 overs.

Jamshaid, who had earlier claimed four wickets for 19 runs, led the RAH fight with a breezy 87 (25b, 4x8, 6x6) while Shabaz also contributed with 57 (25b, 4x3, 6x5). Despite Jamshaid and Shabaz’s efforts RAH eventually fell short of the target by 36 runs.
