In keeping with tradition, the touring YTCA team along with parents and officials, were felicitated at a capping ceremony held at the Indian Club on Wednesday evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahzad Altaf, chief organizer of YTCA, said: “This will be A fantastic opportunity for the youngsters to travel and have a unique experience of playing cricket in tough overseas conditions against some high quality oppositions.” According to Shahzad, the tour will put the lads to the test of playing on natural turf wickets, something not many are accustomed to.

The Under-13 and under-16 tournament will feature four teams each, to be played on a round-robin basis with the top two contesting the final.

The under-19, meanwhile, have been lined up for some stiff one-off matches against some quality teams like Durham Academy, Durham Under-19, Sacriston CC and Washington CC.

Apart from this the lads will get a chance to acclimatise with some warm-up matches scheduled prior to the start of the tournament. The sponsors of the tour are Gulf Petrochem, Unicare Medical Centre and MEC.
