As many as 35 teams took part in the highly-anticipated Emirates Palace Ramadan Open at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club’s Championship courses, a Press release said.

The 36-hole Pairs Better Ball Stableford took place across two days, teeing off at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, the Gulf’s first beachfront course, before swinging over to Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s National course for the decisive final day.

Competition was heated from the outset amongst the strong field of members and guests who were competing for the coveted Ramadan Open trophy and a two-night stay in Emirates Palace’s luxurious Khaleej Suite for each winner.

Young Souk Choi & David De Angelo demonstrated impressive consistency to clinch first place with an overall score of 89 points. The race for second and third position proved a tighter affair, with Konstantin Zoebalas and Paul Stent carding 87 points, and Jung Bin Kim and Jung Hyeok Kim narrowly missing out with a respectable 86 points.

Scott McCaw, Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s Director of Club Operations, commented: “The Emirates Palace Ramadan Open 2014 once again marked a weekend of impressive play, thrilling competition and great fun. Ramadan is all about bringing communities together and we were delighted to be able to do so with Emirates Palace.”

Participants of The Emirates Palace Ramadan Open 2014 celebrated the successful event after the final round with a prize presentation and delicious Iftar buffet in Qanas at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
