Dubai — Sharjah Media Centre (SMC) continues with its popular Ramadan Majlis on Monday with a session on ‘Professionalism of Emirati Football Players.
The talk features Shaikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, former president of Ras Al Khaimah Club, and former president of the Fifa International Federation of Football History and Statistics; Marwan bin Ghalaita, chairman of Al Nasr Football Club; Riad Thawadi, sports analyst at Abu Dhabi Sports Channel and coach of the Bahraini football team; and star player Ali Khasif, captain and goalkeeper of Al Jazira Club. The session will be moderated by Ahmad Sultan, sports presenter at Sharjah Media Corporation. This is the fourth session and is dedicated to promoting sports dialogue and will take place at the Ramadan tent located in Al Majaz Amphitheatre.
The session will discuss topics relating to the UAE football scene, such as the treatment of professional Emirati players compared to professional, foreign players in local clubs. Other issues to be discussed include training and qualification programmes for local players, and how to support professional UAE footballers who play for foreign clubs in the future. The session will also highlight challenges and difficulties facing professional Emirati players and the need to constantly renew trust in local players.
