The tournament is being conducted by the Sindhi Cricket Club and held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.

Petrochem, sent in to bat, were off to the best start of the 25-over-a-side tournament. Openers Deep Kundwani and Mohit Matani meant business stroking the ball well to all parts of the ground.

Their 74-run partnership gave Petrochem a solid foundation. Deep hit a six and two fours in his 34-ball 38 while Mohit played a more sedate knock scoring 28 off 40 balls with three fours.

Just when the going looked good both batsmen were involved in run-outs and with Jitendra and Ronak Aswaney sharing four wickets between them, Petrochem suddenly found themselves on the back foot.

However, Chirag Bhutra took the fight to the rival camp with a blistering 49 from 29 balls which included four massive sixes and three fours. United began their chase positively with Dheeraj (13) and Ronak Aswaney (19) giving them a decent start. Dheeraj’s run out brought Jitendra to the crease.

Jitendra wasted little time in making his presence felt at the wicket slamming four sixes and two fours. His 50 off 30 balls brought the run rate down and took for United closer to the victory target.

Jitendra had to retire having faced 30 balls but Anil Adnani and Prashant Jatwani completed the formalities by taking their team home with plenty of balls to spare.
