During the meeting, Shaikh Hamdan emphasied the importance of providing all support for the newly-established association in order to help it achieve its national mission.
Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, on Monday received Shaikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of Emirates Padel Tennis Association, and members of the board of the association.
During the meeting, Shaikh Hamdan emphasied the importance of providing all support for the newly-established association in order to help it achieve its national mission.
The Crown Prince also gave directives for employing state-of-the-art technologies at padel tennis courts in UAE and for promoting the relatively new sport through mainstream and community media.
On his part, Shaikh Saeed bin Maktoum thanked Shaikh Hamdan for his support for the association, sports and padel tennis in particular. Padel tennis, or just padel, is a relatively new (developed in the late nineteen sixties in South America) but increasingly popular sport, involving a stringless racquet on a court smaller than a tennis court. It brings together a combination of other racquet sports, such as tennis, real tennis and squash, and is played in doubles format outdoors or indoors.
