The 39th ISC Open at the India Social and Cultural Centre badminton courts picked up steam in Abu Dhabi, late Sunday night.
The events in the girls and boys are now in the semis stage and will be played tonight and tomorrow, while the title rounds are slotted for Thursday and Friday.
As expected, the young and talented Sara Siraj reached the finals of all the three events she is taking part in. In the women's singles semifinal she had to do overtime work when ousting her colleague from Dubai, Tanisha Castro, 21-15, 20-22, 21-18.
In the girls under 15 category, she defeated Nida Najeeb 21-5, 21-3, and in the women's doubles championship, Sara enjoyed the company of new partner Emje May Joe to douse the challenge put up by Jean Lepaopao and Anna Rose from Abu Dhabi 21-12, 21-12.
In girls under 12 action, Sreeyuktha Sreejith edged past Rinitha Rajith in three well fought sets - 20-22, 21-18, 21-18.
