Salgado: I want to give something back

Dubai is known for attracting the best and Michel Salgado is no exception. The former Real Madrid and Spanish star has embarked on a new journey to teach the UAE youth the most followed game in the world.

Spanish Soccer Schools was inaugurated at Dubai Sports City on Tuesday.

The former defender who made 55 appearances for Spain said: “Football is everything to me. I started playing the game at the age of three and it is in my blood. It saved me from streets by giving me values, career and identity. I can’t think a moment without football.

“It is time to give something to back to the world. I want to impart my knowledge to the kids. I feel myself privileged to be part of this project.

“The game is not only the name of skill and technique. It gives you opportunity to be a complete man. I want to transfer all my experience to the youngsters. “I want to teach the youngsters football in a Spanish way. Spain have ruled the world in terms of football by winning World Cup and European championship.
