The event is a continuation of the Qasr Al Hosn Festival which was held last February to celebrate 250 years of

Qasr al Hosn fort’s prestigious history, to bring to life the unique traditions that make the UAE what it is today and to showcase the talent, skills and culture of its people.

The purse of the event has 161 vehicles and generous cash prizes for winners in all categories of the forthcoming race.

Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President and President of the Association, lauded the generous support extended by the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to sports and sportspersons. He stressed that his support contributed to the boom the UAE enjoys in all spheres, including sports. This generous support builds on the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who was very interested in traditional sports which represents an essential part of the nation’s history.

He also hailed the support extended to traditional sports by His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Organising this event, he added, sends the clear message that the nation’s heritage continues to have powerful presence in the modern age and that the UAE people cling to their authentic traditions and to building a modern and advanced state.
