PFC organises seven-a-side football tournament

The Dubai based Pinoy Football Club (PFC) celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. It is affiliated to Lead, Philippine Consulate.
To mark the occasion, the club organised a mini seven-a-side football tournament with four teams competing for the trophy in a single round Robin format.
The Green and Orange teams emerged as the top two teams after the elimination round. After a hard fought game, the Orange team won in the final.
The Pinoy Football Club is known to use any proceeds it may raise through participation in tournament for a good cause.
It has used such funds to help procure treatment for a baby suffering from Billiary Atresia that needs a liver transplant.
On another occasion, it donated 80 pairs of brand new football shoes and jerseys to kids from Bicol Region. When the Bagyo Yolanda typhoon struck the Philippines, the club was at the forefront organising a donation of clothes and food for the victims.
Looking ahead, Pinoy Football Club plans to initiate and organise charity games and donation drives to send any kind of support possible for the development of football in the Philippines. The club also plans to develop the football skills of young Filipinos in the UAE through grassroots training.
The event was highlighted by the election of the new president, Melvin Alum.
