The five week course currently underway at the Dome@Rawdhat on Airport Road was introduced after overwhelming feedback from the MUSS kids’ parents who wanted to become more involved in the sessions and be put through their paces by the accredited MUSS coaches.

“So many parents told us they wanted the opportunity to get actively involved on a more regular basis so we have developed this unique programme just for them,” said Andy Dixon, head coach at MUSS in Abu Dhabi. “The new programme gives parents a greater insight into the MUSS philosophy of promoting active, healthy lifestyles and brings the growing Manchester United family in the Emirates even closer together.”

Yasser Mohammed, a Canadian expatriate who has been living in Abu Dhabi for five years, was one of the first to sign up to the programme. “It’s really been a wonderful experience. I usually drive my two sons to the Dome and watch their coaching sessions so to be able to get on the pitch and take part in our programme has been great.

“As a Manchester United fan, learning the techniques from professional coaches is an amazing opportunity and it’s great to have the programme organised for you; playing soccer in Abu Dhabi can be hard otherwise.”

Taking place every Tuesday at the Dome@Rawdhat, the next MUSS parent programme starts on May 22 and is offered exclusively to parents with children currently registered on the MUSS programme.

All parents who sign up have the opportunity to take part in the Manchester United Soccer Schools skills challenge competition, just like their children, as well as the chance to win prized signed Manchester United merchandise. One parent will also win a free place for their child on the upcoming MUSS summer course which starts on 24 June 2012 offering four-day intensive courses for four consecutive weeks at the indoor air-conditioned pitches.

Reem Investments built the Dome@Rawdhat to create a vibrant sporting community in the area. More than 18,000 people use the facilities every month. To learn more about the MUSS programme readers can visit www.manutdsoccerschools.ae or call 02-4498480.
