P2 XI claim ACC Winter Cup
P2 XI lifted Ajman Cricket Council Winter Cup with a four-wicket win over Al Badar. After winning the toss Al Badar elected to bat but failed to put on a fighting total on the board.
Their batsmen got good starts but failed to convert them into big knocks. Nigel (31), Sohail (34) and Zahir (21) made some contributions with the bat.
Al Badar could manage 143-8 in their allotted 20 overs. P2 XI bowled well to restrict Al Badar to a low total.
Ali Najam and Mohammed Qasim took three wickets each. In reply, Al Badar faced a little difficulty to reach the target. Imran Ali remained the top scorer with 35 runs while Malik Salam and Kamran Riaz made 27 runs apiece.
The Al Badar bowlers tried hard but their efforts went in vain as Al Badar coasted to the target in 16 overs. Muder was the only bowler who made some impact with three wickets. Qasim of P2 XI was declared player of the final for his excellent bowling spell.
