Mena Cool defeated General Directorate of Residence & Foreigners Affairs-RAK in the final as the 4th Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) Ramadan Volleyball Tournament concluded on Thursday at RAK FTZ Business Park in Nakheel. During the closing ceremony, Peter Fort, CEO of RAK FTZ, honoured the top three teams and the Best Player in the tournament with trophies. Other RAK FTZ representatives and officials from government authorities also attended the event.
“The RAK FTZ Ramadan Volleyball Tournament was exciting to watch, especially because of the teamwork and harmony that it inspired among free zone staff, clients, the community, and government employees of the emirate,” Fort said. “It put on display the themes of togetherness and unity which are highlighted during the Holy Month of Ramadan, and it was one of many activities that highlights RAK FTZ’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), making a positive impact on the community in which we live and work.”
Mr Fort continued: “RAK FTZ’s commitment to the community can also be seen through our participation in the RAK Terry Fox Run, the annual RAK Half Marathon, Al Saqr Charity Foundation, Human Appeal International, and our award from the Environment Protection and Development Authority for the Best Environmental Practices in Ras Al Khaimah.”
A total of 14 teams competed for the volleyball tournament trophy, including a team of RAK FTZ employees called the RAK FTZ Warriors; a collection of RAK FTZ clients called the ProCESS Team, Morgan Advanced Materials and Mena Cool; and 10 teams from the Ras Al Khaimah corporate community including Rixos Bab Al Bahr, the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, The Cove Rotana Resort, Banyan Tree Al Wadi, the RAK Tourism Development Authority, Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa, the RAK Public Works and Services Department, the Hilton Warriors, RAK Ceramics, and the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs.
