Mattar CC win six-a-side UAE Cup cricket

Mattar CC defeated Pakistan Association (PAD) to win the UAE Cup six-a-side cricket tournament at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday, according to a Press release.

Six teams which participated in the tournament included, Gargash, Hunters, Mattar CC, Pakistan Association Dubai,Sharjah University and Young Talent Cricket Academy. The tournament was jointly sponsored by Gargash Enterprises and Siddco Group. The UAE Cup was part of the month long solidarity celebrations, an initiative taken by PAD on the occasion of the 41st UAE National Day.

Chairman of Abu Dhabi Cricket Association, Saeed Atiq Salem and Consul General of Pakistan, Tariq Iqbal Soomro were the chief guests of the event. Salem thanked PAD for organising such great event and congratulated them urging to see more such tournaments promoting cricket in UAE and within the Pakistani community.

Soomro also lauded PAD for such initiatives and wowed to continue his support. Later the chief guests along with the sponsors presented the trophy to the winning team and medals to both the winners and runner-up players. The winner were presented with a cash prize of Dh2000 to winning team and Dh1000 to runners up team.

Shah Zeb was named the Player of the tournament and the man-of-the-match, Khalid Iqbal was picked the best bastman with Talha Fancy named the best bowler. The best fielder went to Sairaj. PAD president Dr. Zia Ul Hasan gave away the trophies. On behalf of Pakistan Association Dubai, Rizwan Fancy, tournament coordinator thanked all the chief guests, sponsors, teams and the spectators and tournament organisers for their support.
