Live streaming of Aqili final a success

When Danube Lions took on Yogi Group in the final of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council’s (ADCC) season-opening Al Aqili Ramadan Twenty20 Trophy at the Shaikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium over the weekend, Abu Dhabi made history.

It was the first time in Abu Dhabi that a domestic cricket final was streamed live on the internet.

The final was viewed on website www.adcricketclub.ae. Apart from a good crowd watching the final at stadium, thousands watched the live stream. Danube Lions won the final by six wickets. The live stream was developed by Alwafaa Group. It is not a first in the UAE though. The first game to be streamed live was the KFC inter-Emirate Twenty20 final between Ibsons and William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana in Sharjah in June. The final was won by Ib
