Lalvani emerges best at Dubai Golf Summer Series

Emirates Golf Club junior member Tanishq Lalvani emerged best at the second event of the Dubai Golf Summer Series which was played on Sunday at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.

The series consists of four fixtures which are played between two of the local clubs in the Dubai Golf portfolio: Dubai Creek and Emirates Golf Club. This Summer Series is always popular with golfers from across the region and despite the tough summer conditions the event boasted a packed field of over 90 players. The beautiful yet tricky Dubai Creek course would provide a great test for the players competing in the individual stableford format.

Lalvani made it two wins from two in the series after a superb 37 stableford points. Four players on the day finished tied on 37 points but it was Lalvani who had the strongest finish to claim top spot on a better inward half. This result saw Lalvani maintain his place at the top of the series order of merit with a total of 78 points. After being presented his prize Lalvani commented: “I would like to thank the sponsors for their work in putting together such a great series and also all of the staff here at Dubai Creek for presenting a course in such great condition. I must also say thank you to my parents and my coach for their continued support”.

Past Dubai Creek lady captain Maureen Platt took second place with 37 points, also on a count back over Nick Chittenden who finished third. The best gross prize was awarded to Emirates Golf Club Pontus Fredriksson, who shot a superb gross 68 for 39 points. The ladies prize was won by Kate Duffy, who put in a great performance and finished with a total of 33 points. Arjun Gupta was the junior winner after a fine round and a winning total of 34 points.

Gary Chapman, Mukesh Sharma and Kunal Chauhan were all awarded for their accurate tee shots on Dubai Creek’s Par 35th, 8th and 16th holes.
