Isabelle JobardDubai — A veteran by all means, Isabelle Jobard is often seen near the courts, making sure that everything is in place before each and every match at big international events.

“Chief referee, well you can say that but these days I am more into the programmes where the present generation and fresh ‘graduates’ are groomed on a regular basis through workshops, seminars, exams and presentations,” Isabelle told Khaleej Times. The French star of the officiating world has been a volunteer with the BWF from 1997 and the Superseries since inception in 2007.

“The pinnacle is when I attended two Olympics, it is the height of my hobby or ‘badminton career’ as you may call it,” added Isabelle. And, what does she do for a living, well, very modestly she said: “I research on atmosphere, weather, satellite communications that help support it and everything connected.”
