Interface Transworld registered their first win defeating Cost Cutter by a close three-wicket in a low-scoring Group C match of the 40th Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division Tournament. Despite bundling out Cost Cutter for a nominal 102, Interface Transworld had to overcome early jitters before getting past the target in 23 overs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Preferring to bat first after winning the toss, Cost Cutter were in for a rude shock when Salman Baber ran through the top order. From five for two, Cost Cutter further slipped to 36 for four with Baber claiming three wickets during his crispy five overs giving away only 13 runs that also included maiden.

Fahad Usman survived for a brief while to score a 14-ball 10 before Abdullah Afzal put a brave fight to bail out Cost Cutter from what could have been a humiliating total.

Afzal handled the tricky situation well playing his shots freely. He found the fence seven times during his 59 balls stay to score a gritty 45. He could execute his shots without much pressure thanks to Irfan Sajid who kept the other end intact facing 23 balls to score just five runs.

After Sajid was unlucky to be run out, Amir Jaffar carried on the same responsibility to negate 15 balls that fetched him only two runs.

Interface Transworld’s Murtaza Mughal ensured the situation did not go out of control as he claimed three quick wickets. Mughal gave away 32 runs during his 4.4 overs, while the other successful bowler was Salman Farooq who bowled two maidens during his five overs to leak only eight runs and accounted for two wickets.

Replying to a modest total, Interface Transworld were in situation of bother when Asim Kaleem removed the openers cheaply and then included one more quickly to take his tally to three. Abdur Rahman also added to the list claiming another wicket as Interface Transworld were in a grim situation struggling at 17 for four.

Interface Transworld needed one good partnership to get out of trouble. Ramveer Rai and Murtaza Mughal responded to the situation well stopping any further damage as the duo added an important 50 runs for the fifth wicket.
