IBPC in Ambassadors’ lead

Defending champions IBPC took the lead at the end of the first leg of the Ambassadors’ Cup, at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

Now in its second year, the Ambassadors’ Cup is a joint initiative by the Australian Business Council and Dubai Golf, in collaboration with Dubai Chamber, to foster business relations amongst the trade and business councils operating in Dubai

Sporting the largest representation in the competition last year, this year’s 16-member squad continued their fine display of golf to secure a first leg victory against strong contention from Dubai Chamber, British Business Group, Irish Business Council, German Emirati Joint Council for Business and Commerce, South African Business Council, and hosts Australian Business Council, where the IBPC team being sponsored by Du.

The event concluded with a gala dinner and awards ceremony. Ashok Singh picked up an individual award for the longest drive on hole 4, and the IBPC team bagged the award for the best aggregate team score on holes 9 and 10.

Dignitaries attending the event included MK Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to the UAE;Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, chairman, DCCI; and Hamad Bu Amim, directo, External Relations, DCCI.

Bharat Butaney, president, Indian Business and Professionals’ Council (IBPC); and Kulwant Singh, secretary general, IBPC and representatives of the other participating business councils were present. The second leg of the Ambassadors’ Cup will be held on October 11 at the Emirates Golf Club.
