Coca-Cola Middle East is celebrating the coveted championship won by the Hustla Women’s Football team in the Football Sevens Tournament, after participating for the third time.
As a partner since 2009, Coca-Cola Middle East is honored to be associated with Hustla Women’s Football team who exemplify the company’s objective of leading an active and healthy lifestyle.
“We are overjoyed to be the champions of the Football Sevens Tournament this year. We are so proud of the team who gave their all into making this happen. We also would like to take this opportunity to thank Coca-Cola Middle East for their continuous support and encouragement for the team to achieve higher goals,” said Jessica Prelle, captain of the team.
Hustla Women’s Football team which is made up of 12 women of various nationalities ranging from the ages of 15 to 45 competes in Division 2 of the Dubai Women’s Football Association (DWFA).
The girls started playing for fun but later after discovering their talents decided to form an official team.
Since then the team has evolved under the management of the coaches Francisco Igarza and Jessica Prelle by achieving an unbeatable record at the Dubai Football Sevens Tournament as the top female team from the UAE.
“We have seen how quickly the Hustla Women’s Football team has grown over the years and we are proud to have empowered them in their efforts to reach the top. We are looking forward to their development and growth and will continue to celebrate their achievements,” said Antoine Tayyar, Public Affairs and Communication Director of Coca-Cola Middle East.
Previously, the team won first place at the DWFA Division 2 Tournament in February 2011 and again first place in the DWFA Division 2 League Trophy in June 2011.
The team trains in Jumeirah, Safa Park, and Motor City 2-3 times a week and also participate in weekend tournaments across the UAE.
