SLC was represented on the court by Najat Seif Bouraheema, Amal Jamal bin Haydar, Mashael Abdulaziz Belal, Suhaila Mohamad Abbas, Duaa Bassam, Sarah Issa, Alaa Bassam, Alyazya Sultan, Hind Salem, Zainab Al Hudairi, and the pro player, Aline Roz.
In the second game, Bani Yas Women’s Club scored an important 63-36 win against Al Sharqyeh, despite being tied 25-25 at the end of the first round. The Sky Blues dominated the second round and managed to score repeatedly, concluding the game with a resounding victory. The second round of the League will be held on December 27 at the Sharjah Ladies Club’s sports hall, when Al Nasr will play Al Wusta, and SLC will take on Al Sharqyeh.
SLC is counting on the upcoming game, as well as the remaining competitions on 3 and 10 January 2014, to serve as preparation for the second Arab Women Sports Tournament (AWST 2014), which will take place from 2-12 February 2014 under the patronage of Shaikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club.
Al Naqbi praised the players for their great performance against Al Wusta, and stated that she hopes the team will continue to play with the same enthusiasm and determination, especially as the League is still in its early stages, and heavy competition is expected ahead.
