Dubai — GMW Royal turned their fortunes around on Day One of their second match in the ongoing Danube Series. After bowling out Al Fara’a for 164, GMW were 127 for six at close of play as they look to take the first innings lead.

GMW Royal had suffered an innings defeat at the hands of Alubond Tigers last week. With only five points after Round One of the matches, GMW sat last on the points table.

Winning the toss, Al Fara’a elected to bat first on a breezy morning but were left ruining their luck as they were dismissed for 164 in 63 overs. At one stage they were struggling at 40 for 6. But a spirited knock from Baber Bashir ensured they had some target to bowl at. Baber hit a patient 97 off 165 balls with 14 hits to the fence. He was the last man dismissed as he tried for a big hit to reach his ton.

Left Arm Seamer, Mohammad Wasim bowled a devastating spell of 4 for 29 while five other bowlers picked up one wicket each. GMW Royal began their innings hoping to take the first Innings lead and make most of the opportunity.
