Eshna Bhargava won the overall tournament with a 1 under par score of 26 in the Dubai Golf Junior Par 3 Series recently.

The event was played over The Dubai Creek 9 hole Academy Course and was made up of a strong field of 55 budding junior golfers. Eshna has now moved her into the 10th place on the Order of Merit for this season. Fardeen Meeran still leads the way on 350 points with Joshua Hill in second place on 325 points.

The event was the fifth of an eight tournament series and is part of an initiative by the Dubai Golf Academy Professionals to encourage junior golfers to move from the driving range to the golf course. Between the two Dubai Golf Academies at Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek and Yacht Club, over 500 juniors participate in regular weekly lessons as part of the Dubai Golf Junior Development Programme sponsored by Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts and Wild Wadi Waterpark.

Organising Golf Professional Kenny Monaghan commented, “It was great to see so many children participate again today here at Dubai Creek. Every tournament we can see an improvement in skill, etiquette and rules from all the children. We have had some great scores again today and it was good to see so many children and parents enjoying themselves in a competition environment. Special congratulations have to go to Eshna after all the hard work she puts into practicing and getting better.”

Juniors in each of the five programme levels (Black, Purple, Blue, Yellow and White) competed against one another and each level was highly contested. Winners received lovely trophies, vouchers for Wild Wadi Waterpark and various other golf accessories. Each score was awarded with some valuable order of merit points which will be added together for all the events throughout the year.
